Wendy Walker

Millom, Cumbria

Silver Oak Tree started from a taster class at an art gallery which I treated myself to for my birthday. I always struggled to find silver jewellery that I liked and was simple without looking cheap. It was a revelation!

Making jewellery which starts life as clay until it’s fired was startling in a ‘I can do so much with this’ even though my style is logical. Fine silver clay, fire it and ta da, a fine silver in its hardened form comes out.

Since moving back to Cumbria, I have taken my roots on board to my making so have designed some agricultural/farming related makes. My style is simple, with clean lines and logical. It’s not to everyone’s taste but I enjoy learning with each and every piece of fine silver item I make.
